Nelly Wilson, the band, got started because of songs. Original songs that Dale Arwood and husband Delbert write.
In the process of performing these songs at writers' nights, at parties, around campfires, for friends, in the studio doing demo work-- the songs and the players caught on. People loved the songs as much as the musicians who were helping to record them.
Fans started asking if they could buy a CD and where they could catch a concert. Before they knew it, the songwriters had a band and needed a name.
It was great fun brainstorming on bandnames but when Delbert suggested Nelly Wilson, everyone loved it and it stuck.
Nelly Wilson flourished and took on a life of its own. It seemed to fuel itself and push the band to perform. Like the recordings, the live performances got better and better.
The band released their first album, "Fly on the Wall." Hear song samples on the MUSIC page. They are spending time in the studio now, recording songs for the next album.
